Indications

Asthalin Rotacaps are indicated for:

How It Works

Salbutamol is a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (SABA) that relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways, leading to bronchodilation. This action helps alleviate symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and Children ≥12 years: One rotacap (200 mcg) as needed for relief of symptoms. The maximum recommended dose is four rotacaps (800 mcg) in a 24-hour period.

• Children 4–11 years: One rotacap (200 mcg) as needed for relief of symptoms. The maximum recommended dose is four rotacaps (800 mcg) in a 24-hour period.

• Before Exercise: One rotacap (200 mcg) 15 minutes before exercise to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.

Note: Dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s condition and response to treatment.

Proper Use and Maintenance

1. Preparation: Open the Rotahaler device and insert the rotacap into the chamber.

2. Administration:

   • Close the Rotahaler securely to puncture the capsule.

   • Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and inhale deeply to draw the medication into your lungs.

   • Hold your breath for a few seconds to allow the medication to reach deep into your lungs.

   • Exhale slowly and repeat the process if an additional dose is required.

3. Cleaning: Clean the Rotahaler according to the manufacturer’s instructions after each use.

• Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Salbutamol or any component of the rotacap.

• Use with caution in:

  • Patients with cardiovascular disorders

  • Hyperthyroidism
